In 2012 the Society returns to St. Louis for the
first time since 1982 (a meeting that your webmaster remembers with considerable fondness). The dates are November 8–11, 2012. David Konig, of
Washington University in St. Louis is
the chair of the local arrangements committee. The committee has
issued a zippy flyer.
Michael Willrich and Adriaan Lanni co-chair the Program Committee. They have already published their call for papers (PDF) (Word).
For the first time in the Society's history, the Annual Meeting will be held in a 5-star hotel – the Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis. With a conference rate of $145 plus tax per night, this opportunity could not be passed by. St. Louis, of course, has other attractions for the Society. There are two universities with traditions of exemplary legal historical scholarship – Washington University and St. Louis University, the Eighth Circuit Historical Society, and the Saint Louis Historical Old Courthouse where Dred Scott sought his freedom.
